Welcome to engineering at harvard!
Engineering might seem a little daunting at first
Whether it's the sheer number of course requirements or just not knowing where to begin—don’t worry! You are not alone, and you don’t need a strong STEM background to succeed. Many students start out in introductory-level courses without prior experience or exposure to the field and work their way up from there.
There is no right or wrong path to take, but we hope to provide some insight into how to make the best decisions for yourself as you plan your academic journey. And if not, we’ll do our best to redirect you to resources and people who are qualified to help.
The HUES Guide was created by the HUES Mentorship Committee through interviews with upperclassmen in Harvard’s engineering community, with the goal of helping the next generation of students navigate their college journey.
No matter what, we wish you success all the way!
Welcome to the chaos :)

And maybe do research. And maybe find an internship…

In a constant battle with your caffeine intake, pset deadlines, and situationship?
Never fear—you might have lost the battle, but you haven’t yet lost the war.
Have any suggestions?
